Sport is a fun and healthy part of many kids’ lives. In 2024, sixty million youth in the United States will participate! However, sport is not immune to societal ills and fifty percent of youth participants will experience physical, emotional or sexual abuse. If our ideal is a world where everyone is safe in sport, could we consider recognizing athletes’ experiences BEFORE they escalate to harm?
Children and adults involved in sport should always be protected from harm. There is a statutory duty to be alert to any potential risks and have adequate systems in place if things go wrong. This places an obligation on those in charge.
Lasso Safe is happy to introduce our newest Resource Partner, Globocol. Globocol’s safeguarding software application for sport provides a means of reporting incidents and risks to your organisation. It also enables sports to highlight problem locations, types of abuse and individuals of concern.
